YL NYLON PATCH is pre-applied threadlocking coating (typically Nylon), which is coated on the external threads of a fastener. YL NYLON PATCH is dry to the touch and ready for use right out of the box. Unlike reactive thread lockers, YL NYLON PATCH performs immediately upon assembly with no curing time required.
YL Patch can be applied on the external threads from a patch (90-120°), however YL 360° covered the 360°. This resilient, environmentally safe material is formulated to upgrade any fastener to a re-usable, self-locking fastener that will automatically feed and requires no curing time.
The nylon applied 360° will, in addition to locking the fastener, aid in sealing the fastener. Our nylon is permanently bonded to the fastener threads and compresses upon engagement, causing a counterforce resulting in the torque value required.
YL NYLON PATCH is available in two colours, blue and yellow. The unique nature of YL NYLON PATCH allows us to custom engineer special torque values that conform to our customers’ specifications.
Normally applied with 1-2 lead and 4-6 threads coated, a custom engineered location and coverage is available. All colours meet or exceed IFI-124, IFI-524 and most industry standards. Nylon is resistant to fuels, hydraulic fluids, most commercial solvents, alcohol, gasolines, etc., and has an operating temperature to 250°F (121°C).
